After three years, the Festival of Sail has finally returned to Duluth. Ships from all over came to join the Parade of Sail on Sunday morning as visitors lined the Canal to catch the beautiful sight. Lake Superior looked like it went back in time as the majestic ships made their way to the Duluth Harbor for Grand Parade of Sail.
Seven ships left the harbor to sail around in Lake Superior. The US Brig Niagara, Schooner Appledore V, S/V Denis Sullivan, Abbey Road, Schooner Utopia, M/V Sundew and the Gerhard Folgero sailed under the Airial Lift Bridge. There even was a tugboat out joining the fun, as were many other small sailboats and watercraft. The ships formed a line and came back in to port.
Once the parade ended, visitors walked around the historic ships and the famous giant rubber duck. The Festival of Sail runs through August 13.
