Spartans advance to state title game, girls win in overtime against Eveleth-Gilbert

Superior skated past Lakeland Union in the Division 2 state semifinal game winning 4-1 at the Spooner Civic Center to advance to the state championship game, while the girls came back to take down Eveleth-Gilbert in overtime winning 4-3 Thursday night.

Carter Kalin, Carson Gotelaere, Kell Piggot and Mason Stenberg all had goals for Superior in their victory. The Spartans advance to face top-seeded St. Mary's Springs. They'll play Saturday at 9:30 A.M. in Wisconsin Rapids.
