Jeff Gronner and Dave Foster earned Class A Head and Assistant Coach of the Year after leading the Cromwell-Wright girl's basketball team to a 29-2 season.

"I'm passionate about kids, I'm passionate about winning and competing so I'm doing everything I can in season and out of season to put the best team on the court or on the field," said Gronner, head coach of the Cardinal girl's basketball and football teams.

This is the third time Gronner has won the award.

He earned it in 2017 when the Cardinals finished third in the Class A girl's basketball tournament. He was also honored with the title once with the football team.

Cromwell-Wright's season ended after the state quarterfinals due to the tournament being canceled in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gronner and Foster, also the head and assistant coaches for the Cardinal football team, are now looking at preparations for the fall season.

"As soon as we get more information as how long this might go, I can start figuring out ways to get information to my football guys about what to expect in the upcoming summertime," said Gronner.

With the spring sports season on hiatus, he is uncertain when his coaching staff will have the opportunity to meet with fall athletes about training.
