New Superior Police Officers Sworn In

Updated: January 03, 2020 08:05 PM

For Bethany Kemi and Michael Pitoscia, serving as a police officer has been a lifelong dream. And that dream is coming true for them. They were both sworn in to the Superior Police Department on Friday morning.

Kemi is an Esko grad. Pitoscia went to Duluth East.

In front of friends and family, they promised to serve and protect Superior citizens.

Chief Nick Alexander said he hopes his new officers will always have empathy. "Most of the people we meet are good people having a really bad day," he said. He also said the profession is a dangerous one, and more of a calling than a career.

Now the two officers will attend a 17 week long training program before hitting the streets with a training officer.
