Ice sculptors carved out a snowmobile resting on the main stage at Barkers Island where people are invited to take photos. The sculptors will be carving ice Saturday morning 9 am to noon.

18 carvings stand around Superior. Each sculpture has a trivia question attached. Each correct answer will enter participants into a drawing for a chance to win a prize valued at $150.

Ice Festival Committee member Carolyn Nelson-Kavajecz said, "The thing about living in the Northland is, we're gonna have days like this and cold winters and snow, so we might as well embrace it. And that was really the concept of the Ice Festival and how it came about."
