Thunder Bay police officers found both a burglary suspect and the business he allegedly burglarized by following toboggan tracks.

According to a news release, officers patrolling the area of North Cumberland and McIntyre Streets noticed a suspicious male hauling items on a toboggan just after 2:15 a.m. Monday.  They got out of their squad car and followed the trail to a residence on McIntyre Street, where they found the man and items they believed may have been stolen.

Officers then followed the toboggan trail in the opposite direction and found a trailer unit at a local business that appeared to have been the site of a break-in.  The site had items similar to those in the suspicious man's possession.

The 36-year-old man is charged with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and break of probation.  He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 7.
