On Saturday evening, searchers found the body of an overdue skier in the Pincushion Mountain area near Grand Marais.  The sheriff's office said there were no signs of trauma or suspicious activity in the death of 60-year-old David McCarthy of Onalaska, Wis.

On Sunday morning, a southern Minnesota snowmobiler died after an accident on the North Shore State Trail in the area of the Temperance River Road.  First responders noted that the victim's helmet was intact but that she was having trouble breathing, so they conducted CPR until being advised to stop by a doctor.

The sheriff's office identified the snowmobile crash victim as 63-year-old Lisa Schmitz of Mankato.

Autopsies were scheduled for both McCarthy and Schmitz at the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office.
