The event is hosted by the UW-Superior Jazz Band.

"We've been doing it for awhile now, so we have a lot of material this year," Greg Kehl Moore, a professor at the school said.  "We have more pieces than we've ever done before."

Kendra Schmidt is a student musician and she says it's a great experience getting to perform for everyone.

"I'm a classical musician, so when you're performing for the swing dance and you see everyone dancing, it's just so much more fun," Schmidt said.

If you don't know how to swing dance, you can get free lessons from Twin Ports Dance for free.

"You're not forced to dance, if you don't want to dance, you can just sit on the side if you want to," Moore said.

Moore said it's great for students on campus, because it's free for them.

The Valentine's Swing Dance is Friday, February 14 at 7:30 p.m. in UWS's Yellowjacket Great Room.  Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for seniors, and free for UWS students.
