Phil Fitzpatrick is co-hosting the first-ever event.

"It's a poetry reading, first and foremost, but it's also a gathering of people who are concerned about Climate Change," Fitzpatrick said. "My co-host and I decided a better way to approach Climate Change in this area, other than just publishing a book of poems would be to get a group of poets together."

The poster for the event was designed by Penny Perry.

"It's a real cross section of performers," Fitzpatrick said.  "We've got poets laureate from Duluth, we also have several college professors, and delightfully we have six high school students from the area that are also going to be reading poems."

Fitzpatrick said they hope the topic drives the poetry.

"This is the first event of it's kind, but there are already people working on the topic in the area," Fitzpatrick said.

The event is on Saturday, March 14 at Wussow's Concert Cafe from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and admission is free.
