The University of Minnesota Duluth says 45 students have tested positive for COVID-19 through October 15.


According to the university's online COVID-19 dashboard, which is updated every Friday, there were three positive cases between October 9 and October 15.

The dashboard shows positive results from ongoing COVID-19 testing administered by UMD Health Services to students, and is not representative of the entire University of Minnesota Duluth campus population. 

Through October 15, the university has administered 221 tests, and 31 tests between October 9 and October 15.

The dashboard says 20% of tests administered through October 15 were positive, and 9.6% of tests administered from October 9 to October 15 were positive.

The dashboard says eight quarantine rooms, and three isolation rooms are currently in use. There are a total of 276 isolation and quarantine rooms available.

The University of Wisconsin System COVID-19 dashboard says 22 students at UW-Superior have tested positive through October 15. Data was first reported on September 8.

The College of St. Scholastica does not list any information about COVID-19 cases.

The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities dashboard indicates ten employees and 32 students at Lake Superior College have tested positive. 

The dashboard is updated weekly.

Here is the number of cumulative cases for the Northland Minnesota State schools since the start of fall term as of Friday, October 16:

  • Bemidji State University: 12 employees, 65 students positive
  • Central Lakes College: seven employees, 23 students positive
  • Fond du Lac Tribal & Community College: two students positive
  • Hibbing Community College: two employees, seven students positive
  • Itasca Community College: five employees, three students positive
  • Mesabi Range College: one employee, five students positive
  • Northwest Technical College - Bemidji: seven students positive
  • Pine Technical and Community College: five students positive
  • Rainy River Community College: no data available
  • Vermilion Community College: no data available
