Two people were injured after crashing their snowmobiles approximately 15 miles north of Orr around 10:45 Friday night.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office says a 52-year-old woman from Randall, Minnesota, and a 69-year-old man from Swanville, Minnesota were traveling northbound in the ditch of Highway 53 with a group of eight other snowmobilers. The sheriff's office says they both went over an approximately 30-foot rock cliff and landed at the bottom of a ravine.

First responders used a combination of rescue toboggans, ropes, and an ATV winch to rescue the two who were then transported by ambulance to St. Mary's hospital in Duluth where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
