Authorities say they recieved a 911 call at approximately 12:15pm. The initial report was that the water heater inside the residence had started on fire and the flames had spread to the residence.

Members of the Barnum Fire Department, Moose Lake Police Department, and Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at the fire and confirmed that all of the occupants were able to get out of the residence. Unfortunately, there were several pets that were inside the residence, however, and died as a result of the fire.

Authorities say an adult male and two juveniles were transported by Mercy Hospital Ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Moose Lake for smoke inhalation. Their current condition is unknown, but is not believed to be life threatening.

According to authorities, the State Fire Marshall has been contacted to assist in investigating the fire and the family has been placed in contact with the American Red Cross for assistance.
