The company received more than $600,000 in tax breaks from St. Louis County and more than $1 million from the city of Duluth.

Keith Musolf, the commissioner of St. Louis County District 5, said people shouldn’t worry about the tax abatements as he expects the county should see a return on investment “very quickly”.

Costco is expected to bring around 100 new full and part time jobs to the area.

Construction is scheduled to begin this fall at the intersection of Haines and Arrowhead roads and is expected to be completed spring 2021.
