A Birthday Parade for a Northland boy

Updated: April 04, 2020 11:42 PM

Gavin Shaw of Two Harbors had no idea he would reign in his eighth birthday with a parade of people. But, his parents wanted to surprise him after he was sad all week that he couldn't have a party.

With the help of the Two Harbors Police Department, family, friends and some of Gavin's teachers, his parents were able to pull off the surprise of a lifetime Saturday by having all of his favorite people drive by their house.

"We wanted to make this an extra special day. It moved him to tears," Corey Shaw, dad said.

Shaw said the surprise was made possible by Two Harbors Police Chief Rick Hogenson, officers and loved ones.
