The Iron Ore Alliance has launched a new video series called "Taconite Talks."

In the first video, Les Minter explains he's a third generation steelworker. He loves living on the Range. "I do like being part of something that is big. Steel is big. Iron mining is big. This area built this country," he shared. He's a member of Local 1938, which represents people at Minntac.

He also said he thinks mining and the environment can co-exist. "We have been for 140 years. It's  agroup effort, to make the production, to make it safe and environmentally friendly."

More videos will be rolling out in the coming weeks
